Oculoplastic Surgeon

Dr. Allen is an oculoplastic surgeon in Texas.  He practices at Texas Oculoplastics Consultants (TOC) in Austin and other locations.  He has affiliations with multiple hospitals in Texas.  He is the current President of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Orbit.

He attended Baylor College of Medicine for his MD/PhD studies, completing a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa.  He completed two fellowships, one in ophthalmic genetics and a second in oculoplastic surgery, both at the University of Iowa.  He is a former Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, and an Associate Professor with tenure at the University of Iowa.  He also held a clinical position at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.  He is the former Carolyn F. Elles Professor of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine.
